Good morning all,

Seems like a pretty basic question, but I am having problems - I want to use an input form as an edit form also and I can't get it to work. I want to be able to use a field to call out existing records within a saved table. If the field value doesn't exist in the current table, it will automatically know to input the new data. My field which I want to call out the records is also my primary key - is that wrong to do that, but I don't want to repeat multiple entries?
I only have one record table and the input form = please help!

Thanks,

Jason JSF

Jason, you can alter a form's behavior at run time by setting the AllowEdits and DataEntry properties accordingly.

e.g., if you open the form with "AllowEdits = YES" and "DataEntry = NO", then you can edit existing records. To alter it to ADD a new record, just change the property : "AllowEdits=NO" and "DataEntry = YES"

Or check out the "ADD Record" action in the command button wizard for "Record Operations" category. It does much the same thing, except without altering properties.
