On one customer's machine, they have Vista OS.
When you launch our EXE, the textboxes, grids, and other input fields do not show the characters being typed.

Font we use is 'Trebuchet MS' and it is found on their system.

we noticed the cursor (blinking cursor) looks funny, like a little flag or something like that.

So, we removed the other language from the control panel and left english/us only.

However, the labels on the form which use the same font, they show. Only INPUT fields/textboxes are not showing anything.

Has anyone experienced this before? where the Grid rows's text do not show, and the textboxes do not show?

Do they appear when you roll the mouse over them? If so, set _Screen.Themes=.f.

Hi Dan,

it doesn't not appear at all. Even if I highlight (ctr-A) the whole textbox.

the characters work, it just not displaying.

Is it a font issue? or language locale issue of the OS?

I will try to change the font of the textbox, as it is classed, so its easy to change.

So you confirm that it doesn't not display (whatever that means) when the mouse rolls over them? That IS a known issue, specific to Vista and later. You do know that, right?

Don't go messing with fonts and stuff that are NOT known to be problems until you've absolutely ruled on things that ARE known to be problems.

What are OS settings for general font size (small/normal/big) and dpi? If you change from defaults odd things happen.

Bye, Olaf.

I remember a couple of year ago, a user of mine (also use a Vista) could not see what she typed in a text box. It turned out the she set her screen resolution to 800x600 and the form was designed for minimum screen size 1020/764. Once we increased the screen resolution, it worked fine.
