Input CD on WUSB54G won't install?+Window's isn't detecting it.

I have 3 computers. Previously, the upstairs computer was connected directly to the router and the other two on wireless.
I have switched the router to another computer, and the adaptor of that computer to the computer upstairs.

The computer that now has the router setup perfectly and is working fine.
The computer that was wireless before and after the change is also working.

However, the computer I took the router from is not detecting the WUSB54G adaptor whatsoever.
When I put in the installation CD, it does not react.
When I attempt to have windows detect it, it does not react.


It is fully connected, and the computer makes a "pinging/beeping" sound if it is disconnected and/or connected.

The light on the adaptor is also turned on.

Please help me!

I have run into this a few times. In Device Manager, does it show the adapter at all , even as a problem? If so, have you tried to update the drive from the cd instead of running setup?

I have used that same adapter before with good result, but only to have it stop working for some reason and never working again after a year or so. Strange indeed.

What other usb devices are you using?
If you are not using any other USB devices, I would first uninstall the USB ports and let windows reinstall them and then run any updates your motherboard manufacturer offers for the usb port.

Possible you may need to uninstall your network stack and just reinstall the whole stack, possible it is a damaged TCP/IP protocol.
