Input Buffer

Hello,
Could any one please help me understanding how can i clear the input buffer. i have user something like...

Console.Clear(); but that syntax actually clears the screen not the input buffer...any idea...comment?

would it be possible to supply a little more information and perhaps a bit more code?
It may also help if we know the type of input buffer…from a file or network?
