Input box puzzle

I want to put two input boxes on a form. But I want them to be used in an either/or situation.

So if I type in one, the other blanks and vice versa.

Is this something that can be easily achieved.

If you want that functionality you should really be using radio buttons instead of checkboxes. If you still think you need checkboxes, check out this thread for the answer:

I'm not using checkboxes, I'm using input boxes for text
