I have setup iNotes and SSL on our Domino server. In the person document I have checked "Force User to change Internet Password on next login". This all works great accept that the password doesn't "stick". When checking the log I see "Admin Process: Received the following error performing a Change HTTP Password in Domino Directory request on "user" (servername/names.nsf): The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists." The mail server is in the DMZ. I am assuming that when using iNotes I am actually going out and back in through the DMZ although I WANT it all to happen internally. Is this possible with the mail server being in the DMZ?

Hi,

This feature actually does not work good no matter how you configure it. IBM told me that this will be fixed in R6.03...

In your case your server probably wants to communicate with the administration server of the domain. You will need to work on your firewall to make that happen.

Your iNotes mailbox is probably on your mailserver, replicating with another server inside the protected area, so there must be already some port open.

You can also put the mailserver behind the firewall in the protected area. For this your firewall just needs to do port forwarding for SMTP requests and allow connections on the ports you need such as 80 for example.

Kind regards,
