When running a report, Crystal accesses the database and returns the first page of data. Following that, an inordinate amount of time lapses while generating the rest of the pages. In my case this is only a four page report. How do I determine what Crystal is doing during this waiting period?

The usual suspect for excess processing is that the SQL isn't getting passed to the database.

Check Database->Show SQL Query

It should reflect all of the criteria in the record selection formula (Report->Edit Selection Formula->Record).

Post the results if it isn't passing everything on to the database for processing.

What database are you using? What version of Crystal? How many rows are coming into the report? Do you have graphs? Subreports?

Multiple running totals can make reports crawl, too, since they are calculated after data is returned.
