When updating Signature files I want to use the Distrubution feature. In Distribution Settings, under Incoming, I've added the UNC-path to the correct location.

But in the logfile, it says that, when trying to update, it cannot find the file Siglist.txt on the specified location. I can't either. What is this file used for and how do I get it, because it's not in the Signature Updates I download from CA.

Thanks in advance,
Doel

Make sure that the machine you are designating as a distribution server is configured to provide signatures to other clients, and that it is downloading the necessary signatures.

Let me know if you need any other assistance, I would be glad to help.

you must download the signature by FTP!!! Otherwise the siglist.txt isn´t included in the update ;)

There is a folder called Outgoing in the InoculateIT directory. Share that folder and give everyone read permission to it. It's already configured to the correct share name, you just have to enable sharing. Then the workstations will be able to find the Distribution Server. That share name is hard coded into the client I think as the Distribution Server.

If you check the box to store the signatures for other systems, then after the Distribution Server downloads the files into it's Incoming directory it will then copy them into the Outgoing directory.

You might want to set up a local FTP server instead---I've had better luck doing that than with a UNC-type connection (esp. useful for Novell folks that don't have NT logins). It's detailed in the '4.x and 6.x Signature Distributions' PDF on their site. Best of luck!

I am unable to download the signature files by FTP on a windows nt 4 workstation computer. We are using a proxy server which downloads the files ok under windows 95.

How can I get them to download correctly on NT?
