I am having issues with AVENGINE.NLM causing one of my Novell 5.1 servers to abend. As recommended by Computer Associates, I installed the new virus signature updates. After doing that, my domain manager console lists Inoculan on my servers as inactive and having no scheduled jobs. Worse yet, my server still abends. I've contacted CA and have not gotten a response to my issues and it's been a couple of days since I have sent my request in. Does anyone know exactly what is going on hear or have any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi there,

Are you running groupwise by any chance? If you are then, I recommend you look thru this page and apply the patch.

What this patch does is it lets you exclude certain folders and file extensions from Realtime scanning. BTW-groupwise is not supported with InoculateIT for NW.

Take care and good luck. Cheers!

Thanks for the info. I did apply the patch, but after I did this, Inoculan still caused my server to abend. What did stop the server from abending was when CA released the new version of the AVEngine.nlm. What CA had told me about the before mentioned patch was to exclude the Groupwise folders from real time scanning, which would have defeated the purpose of having Inoculan on the server anyway. After a month of pleading with CA to release a new version of the Avengine.nlm, they did, and it took care of the problem. Thanks for your help, though, I do appreciate it.
