Innoculan Exchange Protection - is it any good?

I use Arcserve and the bricks level backup conflicts with Groupshield by McAff. So we use an old version of Inoculan. Version 4.00 build 375 - dead old I know. Anyway it doesn;t conflict with arcserve, but it's crap. For instance it'll allow the loveletter virus to be sent and just avb all the attachments. It's not as good as groupshield. So! Is the newer version any good? I'm running NT 4 and Exchange 5.5. Anyone got any recomendations?

Currently, we are using 4.53. I figure you are wanting info on 6.0. One situation I am dealing with regards Inoculan not registering e-mails to groups. We have an e-mail group which does not register infected e-mails. So if you plan on setting something like this up, don't forget to ask. I am still waiting for an answer myself.

What are the specs of your server?

I ask because i was running v6 eTrust on a NT4.0 PDC / Exchange 5.5 that was a duel PII 333 / 512Mb ram / Ultra SCSI disks (7200rpm). The multiple roles of this server was due to it being a 40 user network.

eTrust struggled on this box as it requires at least a PII300 for the client - let alone the exchange scanning. I found some viruses were passed through undetected as a result of this low spec box running these applications.

It sounds like you box is quite old so you may need to ask will this server be able to handle the software to protect your organisation? Just a thought.
