I have just changed the paging file size to 0, set to re set it to zero, then set minimum to 150, max to 300, after a reboot, it has innacsesable boot device? any ideas? - Please

Is your HDD close to full capacity with Data & Apps?
Can you get to the Recovey Console to move/remove some apps to make space for the swap-file.
If you haven't got the recovery console as a boot option,
get you can restart the install from FDD and CD and the instal wizard will detect your installed w2k (unless the HDD is stuffed) and give you the choice to repair it with Emergency Repair disk (ERD) or go to the recovey console.
The recovery console is a DOS-like command prompt cut down version of W2k.
