Recently my cartridges stoped working so I bought 2 reman black HP 45 cartridges. I soaked the old ones in the water first (just the tips) to see if I get more ink out of them. That didn't work and they were throwing ink error so I tossed them. The new ones still have ink light flashing so I can't print. I tried a new HP 78 color cartridge (past due exp date) with both of these black HP 45s and still getting the error.
I tried chip reset procedures where you tape four contacts on left and right top of the cartridges and that didn't work too. I have USB connection to the printer but there is no way to check what error it is throwing. Can I do anything to make this work. Originally HP 23 was the right color cartridge but it seems that HP 78 is the same part?
Please help, I'm, about to throw this printer away
