Ink for 8400 and 8500 1

I can't get an answer from Xerox. Are the ink sticks for both of these models (or model groups I should say) the same?

I currently have an 8400dp. I'm thinking about adding an 8550dp. I just want to know if I can use the same ink sticks (and maintenance kit for that matter).

3 different people at Xerox couldn't say with any certainty other than that the model numbers are different. I can also see that the sticks cost a bit less, but are rated for fewer pages. They just looked so similar when I found an image on the xerox site.

Ink is different and print heads are different between models. I would not recomend inter changing them. It may not hurt the print heads but at $1600.00 per print head I would be very leary about it.
