When a specified time period has passed I would like to call a stored procedure that would result in an UPDATE statement on a table.

How could I initiate this? Could I use a trigger?

Any example of this would be appreciated if possible.

Thanks

Clumsy but you could create a stored procedure that loops looking for the time and then when it gets past a certain time does the update and exits out.

Not elegant but it would work.

U could create a job to do what u r looking for. jobs can be defined to run a specific SP at a specified time at whatever frequency u want it to run.......

Hope it helps
