Hi,

I'm having a lot of problem with the astpsdat database, because of corruption. As I can't stop doing backups, during several days, dbfix.exe can't do anything to help me. So I decided to initialize the astpsdat database. Now, when I go in the Database directory, I see that the size of the astpsdat files are still over 1 GB. Any idea how I can solve this problem? I have to get this working by the end of the day...

Thanks!

Ben

Hi,

I have a solution, from CA :

==========================================================
1. Stop all the ARCserve services.
2. Copy the DATABASE folder to another partition.
3. Restart the ARCserve services.
4. Try initialising the ASRHOST database.
==========================================================

And it worked!

Here's another email from CA :
===================================================
The ARCserve database architecture has changed with Brightstor ARCserve
Backup v.11

The newly introduced databases are as follows:

* ASLOGERR
* ASMSG
* ASMSGDAT

The manner in which the database size can be reduced is as follows:

1. Initialise only the ASRHOST database
2. Initialise ALL databases.
