Initialise Serial number when group changes

I am using recordnumber special field for Serial number
but when a group is changed the number goes on increasing
but I want to reinitialise the serial number when a groupvale changes

Some one somewhere please help
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Instead of using recordnumber, use running total.
Field To Summarize --> Your field
Type of Summation --> Count
Evaluate --> On each record
Reset --> On change of Group -- Your group

or right click on a field in the detail, insert, summary, count and summarise by group...
