What's the difference beteween an INI or a sysload? I know a sysload is quick, doesn't drop calls and uses the big red button on the CPU. But what does a sysload do? and how do you initiate it?
An INI or initialization is clearing the scratch pad memory on the CPU. All class connected remain up. All calls in a transient state (in the process of dialing, on hold, ringing, parked, in queue) will be dropped. Firmware will be forced down to digital sets.
Versus
A Sysload restarts the CPU and all software will be reloaded to the CPU and brought up from scratch. All calls will be lost. Pre release 21 all sets forwarded will not be forwarded after the sysload and must be reforwarded. This takes more time naturally than an INI. Older systems (pre 23) that don't use IODU/Cs take longer to reload the CPU durining the sysload just because of the media being read.
