We've had a server (running SQL 2000 amongst other things) refusing new connections from it's clients today.
To see if anything strange was going on I did a netstat -a
All looked ok except these worring ones. Googling looks like some sort of a game, but can't work out why it would establish a connection to this server.
The results are:
servername:close-combat pc-name.domain.com:ingreslock ESTABLISHED
servername:3951 pc-name.domain.com:ingreslock ESTABLISHED
servername:3952 pc-name.domain.com:ingreslock ESTABLISHED
servername:3961 pc-name.domain.com:ingreslock ESTABLISHED
servername:directplay8 *.*
Any idea on why this would establish like this and how?
PS the user may get a kicking for this ;-)
Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."
