Infrequent Call Loss On PRI - Magix

Magix system with a 100DS1 card loses calls infrequently. Client is complaining that inbound and outound calls stop functioning for a short period of time. These periods may last for 5 to 10 minutes. The losses occur randomly, different days, different hours and sometimes with a week or weeks in between.

What is very interesting about this situation is that when a loss occurs, other calls on the PRI continue. I have been there with the circuit provider when this happens. He has hooked in and we have listened to the conversations while not being allowed to dial out on another system phone. After a couple of minutes, the "lockout" ceases and we can call in and out again.

I have watched, in monitor mode, all of my test calls on all available trunks dial out when no loss is occurring. I know all of the availble trunks coming from the PRI are functional.

I have replaced the DS1 card. Losses continue. I have replaced the Processor and upgraded it to an R4. Losses continue. I blew out the programming and rebuilt it from scratch. Losses continue.

Has anyone seen this efore or can you point out an error on my part which may be causing this? I can get up to date error logs and PRI prints and place them on the forum if you need to see them.

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Random thoughts:

TTRs? Perhaps one or more is bad, or all are busy at times? Is there an error log event associated with the ceasation of calls? Is it possible that a feature on an inbound call is "mesmerizing" the system? I've heard of Caller ID streams being too long on systems and resetting the card. Heat? What's next to/in the same cabinet with/ the 100D?

First off, this is a totally DIGITAL SERVICE, trust me, NO TTRS INVOLVED.

You are describing a classic case of having your "D" Channel in the pool with the PRI "B" Channels.

When it gets selected for out going (and the Magix hunts thru the pools in a circle) It will knock down the PRIO, like you described.

Let us know if this works or not.
