InfraRed ( wireless link) problem

I have two ThinkPads - configured as identically as possible.
On one, the infrared works flawlessly.
On the other, nothing even happens when I double click the Wireless Link icon in the Control Panel.

Anyone have any ideas?

Which model Thinkpads are they and which OS is running on them?

T40 & T42. The T40 has problems. Both have Windows XP with all updates and all IBM updates.

Have you checked the BIOS to make sure the Infrared isn't disabled?

Infrared is enabled in BIOS, ThinkPad Configuration, and Device Manager.

Got it!
Had to remove infrared in Device Manager & let Windows reinstall the driver.
Who kows???
