BOE-XI (R2)
Oracle 9i database
CR-XI (R2)

A user has created a CR-XI (R2) Report file that has a dynamic parameter which pulls from an Oracle 9i database.

It works fine on the DESKTOP from CR-XI (R2), but when published into BOE-XI (R2) the report asks for a database login when the user tries to enter the parameter while SCHEDULING a report.

This doesn't happen when VIEWING the report - only when SCHEDULING.

Anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance...

make sure the user and password are set up on the report through the cmc. BOXI doesn't keep the information if the developer published it out or saved it out to BOXI.

Thanks so much!

Database values were set correctly in the CMC - and the "When viewing report: Use same database logon as when report is run" button was selected.

As I mentioned in the original post this issue is only related to the dynamic parameter window when we SCHEDULE a report, VIEW works fine.

When you post a report using a dynamic parameter, you also need to save the database password in Business View Manager - it will not use the db username/password from the CMC. See this KB article for instructions on how to save the password in Business View Manager:

That fixed it - thanks!

I can't wait until BOBJ rationalizes the Business View and Universe functions into a single application.

THANKS!

Mark:

You can also schedule the LOV's to run at whatever frequency that you want so that they don't have to refresh when the report is viewed. You can do this through the BV Manager, and then opening up the Repository Explorer, locating the LOV object, and then right clicking the LOV object and choosing schedule.
