INFORMIX problems

I have a huge Table (over 1.000.000 records) and when I make a SELECT, it's take too much time to make it and I don't know how to solve this problem. I created INDEXS but it doesn't work.


Can anyone help me?

Without the table structure nor the index you've created nor the select instruction it's hard to say anything ...

My Table has 15 columns and I can't modify its structure because the application is already done. I created simple Indexes and the result of the query has returned in 30 min. I think the Indexes are the problem but I do not have experience in working with Informix, can someone give me a tip about Index?

Why not posting your table layout and the SQL code of your query ?
How do you expect someone may help you if you say nothing about what you have and what you want ?
