We're running informix 7.31 on hpux10.20 as a database backend to a solarus 8.0 server running Remedy Help Desk ARS 4.x. The solarus box queries the informix box. We are having consistent performance problems--long delays.

Any good way to isolate whether the problem is on the Informix box? I've gone thru hundreds of articles, maxed out buffers, minimized lru's, etc.

thanks in advance if anyone can suggest anything.

Rudy.

The easiest thing you could do is take some of the queries which remedy executes and run those through dbaccess(or what ever utility you like) directly on the database server. If the query is faster than what you get back through remedy then it could be on the remedy side or network traffic. Also, you might want to ensure you are running update statistics on a regular basis on some of the main remedy tables.

Just my 2 cents worth.
