Hi all,

I grabbed the CSDK 2.80 from the IBM site, and I have achieved TCP/IP connectivity from my newly built Win2000 server to the Informix SE 7.3 server (it's a Solaris 2.6 machine). The Informix ODBC driver is 3.81.

sqlexec 1530/tcp is in the c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\services file on the 2000 server.

I have yet to connect to the database. I get the following message: Database not found or no system permission. sqlerrm(systables).

I've triple-checked 2000 server's system DSN entries against our other machine, which connects just fine on NT4.0 and 3.33 Informix drivers, and everything matches.

I carnt even get that far..

im running windows XP pro as the client and Linux as the server

I've setup on the server

sqlhosts entry

cerbera_net onscotcp Cerbera cerbera_net

services entry

cerbera_net 1550/tcp

set a serveralias of cerbera_net

on the pc i've installed the odbc drivers from the sdk

been through setnet32

added the services entry to the

windows\system32\drivers\etc\services
and added the

cerbera_net 1550/tcp entry

got the host name to resolve

then gone into dbping

informix server = Cerbera
host = Cerbera
service = cerbera_net
db = db name

and i get a -931 error which is service not found ?

any clues
