Hi all,

Has anybody moved a installed informix enviroment from one file system to another? Besides coping it, and modifying any reference files for /usr/informix to /dbms/informix.

Along with this the database links to the raw space will change.
/usr/informix/links/"dbspace-linked-to-rawspace"
to /dbms/informix/links/"dbspace-linked-to-rawspace"

Is there anyone who dealt with this, and have some experience on any issues with this?

thanks for your comments. tj

Do NOT do this, after the files get loaded, there are many permissions that are changed via the install scripts, these can get corrupted if you move the files. Unless you are an Informix expert and know which part of the install scripts to run which deals with permissions, just do a reinstall.
Also, data files can NEVER be moved. The path to the physical chunks are stored in internal database tables. If you change the path to the data, the internal pointers will be incorrect. If you need to move the chunks, you must do an export, rebuild the dbspaces wherever you want them and do an import.
