HI

I installed Informix Client SDK 3.00.FC2 Windows XP Windows 2003 Windows Vista English .U.S.zip

for my Win2003 64bit SQL 2005 sev 64 bit server.

It has all been installed and it even has a succesful connection to the Informix server!

However when I tried to connect using an oledb server the provider it keeps asking

The 'Ifxoledbc.2' provider is not registered on the local machine.

under the bin file there is a Ifxoledbc.dll

Am I missing something?

Did you install the 32bit or the 64bit Informix driver?

Hi
It is a 64 bit driver which I get a succesful connection within odbc.

However I can't creat a linked server not can I import data from SSIS.

Now correct me if I wrong its a little bit of the unknown for me!! On the SSIS for example I can see the provider and have even tried to use native client

Provider=Ifxoledbc.2;password=XXX;User ID=XXX;Data Source=live@jvert07_se;Persist Security Info=true

It now says unable to unload the UDL

Is that because Visio Studio operates in a 32 bit env that I would need to install a 32bit driver and try the oledb? Or Would I need to try and create a 32odbc connection to which I then try to connect as normal??

Second point on the linked server as far as I have read that the olebd from ibm is not true 64bit as it uses odbc. Which as I said I can see it within Visio as a provider but can't use it however I can't see it within the linked server providers. Is there any way around this.

Any help or advice would be great as I see to be hitting a bit of a brick wall on both fronts.

Okay on the leap of fail I tried installing the 32 bit 2.81 and I now have connection!!! but in data flow I can't move the data arrrrr
new post under the SSIS
