I need your help, i installed an eval copy of informix on win 2000, both the server & client is on the same machine. i tried the above steps for connectivity. I did the settings in obdc & did a test connection, it worked fine, but when i installed client sdk 2.81 from a different machine, it does not. I made the same settings in setnet32 too. Please let me know what additional setting are required if i need to connect for a diff. pc. when
both the client & server is on the same pc and i run ilogin demo, it connects but just displays a blank window with the heading customer records found and the column names number, first name, last name. the database selected was stores7. I need to know which is the utility thru which i can run sql staments from the client to the server, something like isql. we use isql to query on the backend. Pls. you guys could advice a utility thru which i can run sql from front-end, where can i download it, pls. give me the links. Also when i do dbping and select the native connect from the menu and enter the server details, it gives me an error
"Informix server not found in the registry"
Now regarding the client and server on different machine, i did the same settings, it works fine at odbc level, but thru ilogin demo it gives an sql err -956. 956
"Client client-name is not in /etc/hosts.equiv on the remote host." This is something to do on trust relationships because both the server and client are on diff. domain. Apart from this is there any settings that i need to do. Pls. advice. The main thing i require is a front end utility like isql in the client thru
