Does anyone know why does informix 9.2 server was able to start then sometimes afterward it stopped itsef ?
Is there a parameter that needs to be set to prevent this auto-start and stop ?

Thanks

hoctro,
If you are using Unix the startup and shutdown scripts are found in specific filesystems. On Sun we have the startup in /etc/rc2.d and the shutdown in /etc/rc0.d directories.

When you say it stopped, do you mean it Aborted? If a user kills and Informix process using a 'kill -9' in Unix this will usually cause the server to stop - at least it does in earlier releases.

The scripts is the /etc/rc... directories normally only gets run when the system is rebooted.

If this is happening on a regular basis then check your cron file and see if there is something that is scheduled to make this happen.

This is all assuming you are using Unix.
