Information store stops with Dr Watson error

Starting a few days ago after a drive failure and subsequent replacement of that drive, we had the information store stop on our Exchange 2000 server. The drive was part of a raid 5 array.

Looking at the event viewer, it seems as though its stopping every night during the online defragmentation of the priv1.edb database. The logs say that the defragmentation is resuming and then within a minute the information store stops and a Dr Watson error is recorded for store.exe in the application log.

I suspect that we my have a problem with the information store because of the drive failure. We havent used the eseutil yet, so we wanted to get feedback before trying that.

Any thoughts or ideas?

take backup, rebuild raidset from scratch, restore,...

or take backup, run eseutil, check if ok leave, if not okay break raid and rebuild
