Information Store Stops Unexpectedly

Hello,
I am having a problem with my Exchange 2K server. The information store service will suddenly stop with no warning. The only mention in the Event Logs are that the "service stopped unexpectedly" and that a Dr. Watson occurred. The Dr. Watson entry does not even indicate which application. It just says "The application, , performed...".
I am running E2k SP2 on Win2k SP2. No software changes were made prior to this first occurring. I had almost one year of perfect performance before this happenned. So far, it has occurred three times.
I am running integrity checks on the databases (I have multiple stores) using the eseutil /g utility. So far, they seem to check out fine, but I'm not done with them all yet.
If anyone can help me out and point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Len,

Was a Userdump created? If you look for the Dr.Watson log you should be able to search from the bottom up and look for "Application Exception" (no quotes). Using thisand looking at the PID and the faulting application you may be able to get an idea of exactly whats crashing, there's no guarentee its the IS it may be somnething that it has dependencies on.

Have you updated AV software or Store.exe recently? I would test running with AV runnign in VSAPI as opposed to ESE mode scanning if you have this... The best option maybe to disable scanning if you have a permiter box you can rely on / use to do the scanning.

Also can you see any build up to the crash in the app and sys event logs?
