My boss just told me about MQSqeries but didnt really get into it so i have a few questions if you all would be kind enough to answer them.

What exactly is MQSeries/Web Sphere?
Does it have to do with programing, networking or what?

How long does the schooling take and how much does it usually cost?

What prier experience should one have before trying to get into this class and or area of computers?

What is the average pay for a MQSeries person, (i work for a professional recruiting agency) My boss just landed a guy that just graduated a week before a job for $70/hr.

Is there any special programs that i could look into to further my knowledge on MQSeries?

How stressfull is working with MQSeries?

Is there anything else you can suggest or inform me on or link me to?

Thanks for looking over my post and answering questions, im sorry if i asked questions that have been asked 50 million times, i looked over the net and could really find anything that would answer any of my questions.

Thanks again,
Tony

in the end code will create man.
clones are coming only matter of time.

BTW.

I know that it is a *thing* that makes it so diffrent systems can communicate together and understand each other.

Does this mean its a box itself that the computers are connected to that will translate?

Is this a Hardware/Software thing?

I really dont know what to ask just trying to find out as much info as i can about it.

Thanks Again.

I'd suggest the MQSeries Primer @ as a good place to start looking for info.

You'll see that it removes the need for applications to deal with connectivity issues between platforms so, in a sense, it has to do with both programming and networking.

IBM & Circle & CASE Consultants (and probably others) have courses - try these sites for an idea of education requirements.

Prior experience depends on what you want to do with Websphere MQ. Programming is no different, really - but an understanding of unit-of-work would be beneficial.

The other questions, apart from stress, I can't answer. Anyone I know who works with MQ gets over the learning curve fairly quickly and the stress is whatever you want to make it....

Garry.

I almost skipped this as you had added to the original - these showed up as 2 replies....
