Information on how to convert MS Access VBA dbs to JAVA

Hi,

I am looking to find the best approach to see what is possible to convert some Access 7 and 10 Access databases as well as Excel macros that are heavily utilizing VBA in Access and Excel to JAVA. Our business team just moved from the business side to IT (even though our team is from IT) who thinks Access and Excel are not technical tools without knowing how much code we have in VBA. If anyone can provide some approaches we should take to make this transition possible and successful would be appreciated!!

Ideas on training? Conversion utilities? Any ideas would be appreciated.
