'Information modules' for website members

Hello,

I'm developing a city website that allows members to customize the information displayed. Information includes: weather, news headlines from an RSS feed, web cam, Mayor's message, city alerts, etc. These "information modules" appear in little boxes which the user can turn on or off in a control panel.

What are the best ways and methods to do this using ASP.NET VB?? I am open to any suggestions and ideas. Thanks!!
