We have been using the Info View from BO XI Release 2 and are in the process of upgrading to BO XI 3.x. The new info view no longer shows links for view latest instance, history, properties etc. You need to either select the report and right click to get to these links or select the report and choose what you want from the Actions menu.

Is there a way to get the links to display again? What use to be one click to view a report is now much more and more complicated. My users are not fans of the extra clicking. The other problem is the new system lets them see things they do not have access to like view. Many of the reports we have my uses do not have access to they can only view the saved instances via view latest instance. With the new system when they right click I have to tell them not to select the BOLD View but slide down the menu to view latest instance or they will get an error message letting them know that they clicked something they don't have access to.

I haven't opened a case with SAP yet. I figured I would ask here and see if anyone had any ideas. I looked around in preferences but couldn't find anything there. It may be possible to add an extra link for view latest instance below the report name with a little custom code. I am using the .NET version of info view.

We struggled with this when moving to 3.1 as well. There is no way around it other than writing your own interface that has the functionality you're looking for. And opening a support case won't do anything for you - the software is working as designed and with 4.0 due out any day, they're not going to change it.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid that was the answer I would get. I don't like the position SAP has put me in.
