Hi all,
I have set of reports in Seagate Info 7.5 that are designed using Info SQL Designer.
The set up is:
I have three Query Templates ('.qry' files) that run on stored procs (Let's name them A, B, C). Then I have recurring jobs set on these Query templates which stores data in Crystal Query format (.qry files) and runs 5 times a Day/Weekly/MTD/Monthly. These results are stored as A 7AM.qry, A 9AM.qry, A 11AM.qry, A 3PM.qry, A 530PM.qry, A Weekly.qry, A MTD.qry, A Monthly.qry. Similarly for B and C.
Then I have report template that uses events and these output .qry files as data source to generate actual reports based on parameters (e.g. customer name).

Basic idea was to store status at particular time and then report off that file until it gets updated next day/month.

Now we are migrating to BO XI and Crystal Reports XI and same time to SQL Server 2005. This SQL designer no more exists in XI.

What will be the approach to have same set up in XI? - I am thinking that having XML files to replace .qry file will do the trick.

Has anyone been through this road?
Awaiting your feedback.

Thank you all,

XML files might work. Another option would be to have one or more report tables in your database and schedule stored procedures to do what your query templates are doing and store the data in the report tables. If you had a separate table for each query, you could just delete all of the data from the table at the start of the stored proc and then generate the new data.
