Info Path 2

I have design a form in Info Path. It is a full-page, detailed form used for data entry (though not for information processing, so nothing is written to a database).

Anyhow, I would like to be able to do two things - 1. have a "convert to pdf and e-mail" option 2. I would like to be able to change the default page setup to have .25" margins (or whatever will be printable).

I feel like an idiot because I can't seem to find the page margin settings anywhere in the design area. Once you create a new form instance, you can change the page setup, but I don't want my users to have to do that (because they won't).

As it stands, the margins are set at 1" 1.5", and so my documents don't print right and don't export correctly/cleanly. My only decent option is to export as a mht file so that firefox/explorere will at least see the correct layout.

It seems like I am just missing something simple, but I can't seem to find it. I am completely new to info path.

Re margins, does this help:
View > Manage views.
In the Views task pane, select the view and click View Properties. Go to the Page setup tab.

well, there is no page setup tab from the the view properties window. there is a printer settings tab, but that just lets you change page layour - landscape and portrait, and a few other minor things.

when you are not in design mode, you can get a page setup, but you would have to do that every time you wanted to print, and my end-users can't handle that.

That is strange - I just looked and I have the following tabs:
General, Text Settings, Print Settings, Page Setup

I checked in Help; here is what it said:

Change the page margins for a form

Page margins are the blank space around the edges of the page. Typically, nothing appears or prints in the margins except headers and footers, if your form has them. When designing a form, you can specify default margin settings for each view (view: A form-specific display setting that can be saved with a form template and applied to form data when the form is being filled out. Users can switch between views to choose the amount of data shown in the form.) in a form. Users can adjust this setting before printing a form they have filled out.

Specify default margins when designing a form

In design mode, click Manage Views on the View menu.
In the Views task pane, select the view whose margins you want to modify, and then click View Properties.
In the View Properties dialog box, click the Page Setup tab.
Under Margins, select the options you want.

well, what the hell then. when i go into my manage views --> view properties, I only have three tabs. maybe i will try writing microsoft because it appears that something is screwed-up. thanks for your help.

I forgot to ask, are you running Office 2003 SP2? I wondering if maybe the service pack screwed something up. I hadn't used infopath before I installed Office 2k3 SP2.

Yes, I'm running 2003 SP2.

Have you checked to see if the tab is available with a new form; is it something specific to this project?

To answer the questions in order -

Yes, I tried designing a new form/project. I get the same exact problem.

Secondly, there is no File-->Page Setup option in design mode. At least not me for me.

I guess I may try reinstalling office, but that doesn't really seem like an install-borne issue. I have never heard of a tab being left out. Anyhow, I assure you I'm not an idiot (well, I may be, but not regarding computers).

Thanks again for your help, I'll keep guessing.
