I'm looking at setting up a test with an SQL 2008 Express. Company is looking at finding the best solution to extract data daily from a pervasive database (Timberline) to an SQL database.
I have SQL 2008 express and managed to create a LInKED server to the pervasive database.
Basically, need info (or point me in the right direction) on howe to go about this.
1) Can it be done with Linked Server?
2) Would the Data Transfer be better - What would be the procedure(I tried it and get to the point I receive an error that all tables have a cannot access Column -1)
3) Would SSIS be the route and where could I get info on this? Would it work with the express version?
Any info would be appreciated in assist with info to get the testing started.
