Hello

I've never used Crystal 2008 until today (somehow the bosses thought I would be able to do this!)

I've put together a report from a HR database (snowdrop v5)
containing the following

Name, Surname, disability? Disability type, grade, location

However Disability? (check box in database) is being displayed as false and disability type (drop down in database) information isn't being displayed at all.

There are spaces for these in the report and when hovering over the gap it shows the table it's getting the information from. It all appears correct.

I changed an employee's information in Snowdrop so that they were shown with a disability so I could check my Crystal report, but on refreshing the data that person was still showing as False for a disability and completely blank for type where it should have been "True" and "hearing"

I'm sure the database is connecting correctly otherwise I wouldn't be able to choose database fields would I? Is there anything I need to do to force Crystal to connect to the database and get the updated information?

Thanks

Are you seeing ANY database changes show up in your reports?

Any chance you have more than one instance of the database and you are not reading the one you are changing? Or are their several tables that might hold different versions of the information and maybe you are reading the wrong one?

Or is it possible that this table stores multiple records for the same person (eg an audit history of changes) and you are looking at the original and not the update record?

I would also close CR and then open the report again and refresh. I have seen data connections keep cached data in memory.

Hi

In this particular report, there are no changes showing just the original data.

It's entirely possible that there is another instance of the database, however this is completely out of my league - I normally only work at this place as a typist!

The table concerned is part of the employee table and data isn't held anywhere else, neither does it hold historical info.

I'll restart Crystal and see what happens, perhaps today it'll work!

Thanks for your help.

Let me reword my first question. Disability changes aren't making it to the report, but are there any other changes that you can make in the Employee data that are reflected on the report? In other words is it just these fields that won't change or are ALL fields frozen on the report.

Hello

Today I find that there *are* two areas this data is held as the company wanted it held together in a separate place to where the standard is. (No, I don't understand either).

Anyways, now it is working. Thank you
