Has anyone out there managed to use Notes for email notification of successful object instances?
I have looked in the config manager and selected the lotus domino database, where it asks for a username & password.
I try to set email notification when scheduling a report, but when I click on address book it comes back with the error 'cannot start MAPI'
Any ideas anyone?

P.S. Welcome to new Info forum!

For your information:

Have found the solution in the form of a knowledge base article.
Check out http:/support.crystaldecisions.net/library/articles/c2001914.asp

I have tried it out successfully. The only problem is that the APS service will now not run as an NT event upon boot-up. It just sits there and eventually fails. Have got around this by disabling it in the services and putting it in the startup folder.
This obviously only works when the machine is logged on though.
Any better ideas out there?

Managed to cure this problem by setting the Info storage server service to automatic, instead of manual.
The APS service times out whilst waiting for the Storage server service to start, and it is this which causes the error.
See ya

I have a client who has problems with SI7.5 and scheduling or notifying by email. It only works when the APS is running as a process. All accounts used are the same (the services account and the log on account) and have the correct permissions (we think). Schedule an instance and it produces a success, but no email is sent! Any ideas anyone? Icytrue

Have you tried typing in the full email address of the recipient?
If I use what SI puts as the address in the destination part of the scheduling box, the report will run with success but no mail gets sent.
Typing in the full mail address in the destination gets around this for us - give it a try.

Cheers

Steve
