cont'd error msg: Trying 3 times to re-establish connection. Please check Info database machine status. Next error msg: Database access error. Reason (Microsof)(ODBC Driver Manager) Invalid argument value.

This happens every morning around 4:00AM. We've checked backups for locks, scheduled tasks, etc. and cannot find what the issue is. It breaks our reporting process until we restart all the Crystal services (which do restart thank goodness) but our scheduled reports then have to be done manually. This is a server that has no antivirus to get in the way and we do not perform MS updates so NO CHANGES had been done to this server prior to or during time of errors appearing and causing us grief.

Our vendor installed Crystal APS and now doesn't want to be involved in fixing it. I hate it when I have to fix work someone else started and who has all the knowledge in their head, not mine. What do you think?

Hi,
What database are you using for the APS?
Does it have a 'native' connection method, instead of ODBC?

What else is going on on the network at that time? It doesn't have to be something that is necessarily directly related to your Crystal Server, it could be something that is causing and extreme slow down or disconnect on the network.
