I've been checking output from various printer drivers and noticed that some drivers (mainly UNIDRV5 based) send raster width commands but no raster height commands. Other printer drivers (custom, most likely Software 2000 based) send both raster height and width commands.

When would you utilize the raster height command? The width and height seem to vary but I can't determine what causes the height values to change.

Sometimes the width = printable width * dpi or raster width. The raster height is always small.

The HP docs are not too clear on when you would utilize both commands other than to be memory efficient.

Here is an example using both commands from an actual printable PCL 5c file:

<ESC>*r9846s Set Source Raster Width : 9846 pixel units
264T Set Source Raster Height : 264 pixel units
<ESC>*p0x Move CAP horizontal : 0 dots (absolute)
72Y Move CAP vertical : 72 dots (absolute)
<ESC>*r1A Activate graphics mode
<ESC>*b2m Compression method: TIFF rev 4.0 "Packbits"
