The server I have keeps pegging out at 100% every couple of days. I have rebooted, stopped our index server, and every other process that might inhibit it, but as soon as the server comes back up, it maxes out at %100.

Has anyone had this problem? And what did they do to fix it.
I cant seem to figure out why inetinfo.exe is pegged at 100%.

Thanx,

shorty

First do a virus scan for 'Code Red' or other malicious code. (Code Red had this result I believe)

Try unloading one web site at a time until InetInfo calms down (if it does). Try running each site in its own memory space and doing this. After unloading all the sites start making hits to each one while watching Inetinfo to determine if is a particular web app.

Is mtx.exe maxing also (Microsoft Transaction Server)?

No only inetinfo.exe is pegging out.

I had this problem before, the problem was everytime my virus scanner was scanning the global.asa file it would kill the server. So I basically excluded the global.asa file from my scanners search and that fixed it. I hope this works. Please let me know Gordon R. Durgha
