The server is not working today, saying something about being unable to read DNS obj name, but on further investigation I find when I load intetcfg there is no configuration there at all, could the network card have died? How would it totally lose the configuration. It shows no boards, no protocols no bindings, HELP!!!!

Sys was mounting but the configuration of inetcfg had all gone. We decided it was the network card and replaced that and we have got it working, but we still cannot 'see' our other campus. However we can now login to this server and get all our files. Not sure why we cannot see the other campus.

The configuration of INETCFG is stored in the file SYS:ETC\NETINFO.CFG so if this file has been deleted or has become corrupt, this would explain your INETCFG problems.

Maybe your etc directory got wiped out. Your router configuration is also there (can't remember exact filename)... That would explain not being able to communicate outside your local network.
