Hi,

I have a VB6 app which transfers files to and from a Unix box using the inet control. This has been working without a problem. However, a banner is now being introduced on the unix box prior to the login. This banner however will cause error 12003 whenever a file transfer is required. Is there a way to get the inet control to ignore this banner, by either tweaking a property of the control, or by another method?

Eh??, see below. The syntax works. You're doing something wrong, your data types perhaps.

SQL> create table tom(x varchar2(20));

Table created.

SQL> insert into tom(x) values(chr(39) || 'tom' || chr(39));

1 row created.

SQL> select * from tom;

X

'tom'

Tom - I take it that post was meant to follow thread759-1099738...
