Hello,

Is it possible to gain access to the inet.dll windows API so I can FTP files from a client machine to a server via a webapp?

Perhaps using Javascript and ActiveX?

I simply want members to click a button and it automatically upload some required files to our server, but this is turning from a simple task into a nightmare.

How is it possible to write such code?

Thanks,

Okay, you want your end users to be able to upload files to your server. I believe you can find the scripts to be able to do this on just about any site that allows you to add attachments to email or to thread posts. Perhaps you should ask this question in a web forum.

Good Luck

I know, but i'm having issue with file size and using HTTP MIME encoded POST method.

So wanted to plug into the more reliable intet or similar to use FTP protocol.

Am i in the wrong place for that?

I'm doubting that you will be able to use the inet even if you wrap it up in your own, but then again I have never tried to do something like that so there might be a way.

With that said. I would suggest you browse forums and either choose a forum from Graphics and web tools or the Languages to post your question about the the problem you are having with your post method.

Good Luck

Ok sorry I thought If I wanted to plug into the Windows Application Programming Interface, this would be the right forum.

My appologies.

Well, this may be the place or one of them but with only 11,607 members at the time of this posting, I would think one of the more busier forums might be more of a help to you. The problem I am having is even if you wrap the inet up in your own activex, I'm thinking that there would be so many security counter measures against downloading/installing/running your control that I'm unsure of how successful you would be, but like I said/wrote previously, I have not tried anything like that before. Hence my suggestions on trying to fix your post mime type problems with a web forum and perhaps asking your question there about using or making an activex wrapper for the inet.

Either way...

Good Luck
