We have a NEC SV8100 server. What's a good industry cert to take to learn the technology?

You need to be employed by an NEC dealer to get access to the training for the SV series of systems. However, the SL series uses the same programming blocks, although less of them. You can register for and take training on the SL1100, SL2100 systems as an non-dealer. Visit the NEC SL2100 web site. Try this site,
 
Correct. You may be able to still get NTAC supprot, but it's close to the end.
 
Excuse me, how about sv9300? How far it to the end? We decide upgrade our sv8300 to sv9300. Is it worth doing?
 
The SV9300 will be around for a while. It just replaced the SV8300. There is a migration path. The software is still being updated and developed for new features.

It is a question of how much it will cost you to keep up to date with features. If you are happy that the system has all the functionality you want for the life of the system (however long that may be) then it may not be worth upgrading. But then who has a working crystal ball?
