Indexing Service

I am having a problem with the Indexing Service.

The Catalog is build and seems to be showing good results, however when I go to my intranet site and performe a search this is the error that I am getting:

Error Type:
CreateRecordset (0x8004181D)
There is no catalog.
/search/default.asp, line 118

here is the line in the file that is listed above.
Set Results = Index.CreateRecordset("nonsequential")

any ideas what this could be and how to fix it?
there is no backup or virus scan being run on this server that could cause any issues.
