Indexes in separate tablespaces

When I used to administer DB2 on OS/390, when you created an index you specified its storage requirements, i.e. you created an indexspace, quite seperate from the table. I see references to this kind of thing in the UDB manuals from time to time. However, in the CREATE INDEX syntax specification there is no reference to storage.

Am I correct in thing that in UDB you can not separate indexes from their tables?
 
The INDEX Tablespace is specified in CREATE TABLE Statement ...

On os390, you could have each index on its own tablespace , but on Unix, you can have only one tablespace for all the indexes ...
