Hello,

I have a field on my form where the user puts in a number. The definition is set to index, no duplicates accepted. If a user puts in some data he does not give a warning after he lost focus and goes to the next form field when there is a duplication. He only gives a warning when the user goes to the next record.
Which instruction can I set behind the events on lost focus or after update to verify if there is eventually a duplicate input ?

Hi

If this is a multi user system, you cannot do that reliably until the user comits the record to disk, since in the period of time after lost focus and before comit, another user may insert a record with the same key. (The record is not comitted to disk until you execute an explicit save or move to next record).

If it is a single user system of you want to do it unreliably you could use DLookUp (see help for syntax)
