Index problems on newly migrated domain

We just completed our NT to Active Directory domain migration. Prior to this, I had to use host files on all of my clients for lookup purposes. We have implemented name servers, and verified forward and reverse lookup across the domain. When I launch a sql restore, I get the no index found error. To temporarily work around this, I entered the host file information on the Networker server as well as the client, and it found the index with no problems. Any ideas on how to direct the client to the correct index location without using the host file information? Also, after running a test backup, it saves the information in the same index location prior to the domain migration, but when I go to the restore, it shows only the last save set that was saved.

Thanks.

CAn you give a bit more info.
Before the migration, what name wass used by client for the server and vice versa?
After what name was used by the client for the server and vice versa?
When you run the backup, are you running it from the server or the client?
When the restore is run, are you running from the server or client?
Are you usung normal backup/restores or the sql module?
